McCann’s: Standing Between You
& the Elements
At McCann’s, we’ve been around long enough to know that choosing a roofing company isn’t always easy. There are dozens of companies, tempting – but illegal – offers to ‘eat your deductible,’ and many other confusing promises out there.
So what’s different about McCann's?
1. We’re Local
McCann's has been here for more than 30 years and we don’t plan on going anywhere. That means we’re accountable and here to help should anything ever go awry.
2. We Want to Earn Your Trust
We know trust isn’t freely given. It’s earned with every step of every project. Our goal isn’t to sell you a product – it’s to begin a lifelong relationship of trust. That means we’ll never sell you something you don’t need.
3. Top Manufacturer Partnerships
McCann’s is trusted by GAF, Malarkey, CertainTeed and other top manufacturers because of our record of performance.
4. Honesty & Expertise
Understanding everything about roofing isn’t your job. It’s ours. So we’ll make sure to steer you in the right direction to make the best choices for your family, your home and your budget.
McCann’s Roofing Products
The number of roofing product options out there can be a little overwhelming. At McCann’s, we don’t want to swamp you with options, but we do want to help you make the right choice for your home. Below you’ll find our top picks for Oklahoma homes. Everything featured here is nothing less than we would install on our own homes.
Class 4 Impact Resistant Roofing
Class 4 shingles are designed to meet the highest impact resistance rating possible, ensuring your roof is ready for the next storm.
Protection from Peas to Ping-Pong
In Oklahoma, you never know what might fall from the sky. We’ve seen hail from pea-sized to baseballs and beyond – not to mention sleet, torrential rain, layers of ice and relentless hot sunshine.
Though they can’t protect against everything, Class 4 shingles prove their grit by standing up to impacts from heavy steel balls – simulating hail and debris. This is no sales gimmick. They are the real deal, and choosing Class 4 means choosing some solid benefits:
- Reduced insurance premiums
- Unrivalled protection from wild Oklahoma weather
- High wind ratings
- Improved Warranties

Residential Roof Replacement FAQ
How do I know if I need a new roof?
Roofs get worn down and damaged over time, requiring you to either make repairs or replace it entirely. Repairing your roof will always be cheaper than replacing it, but sometimes it’s better to invest in a new roof to avoid racking up more costly future repairs.
Some signs it’s time for a new roof:
- Shingles are no longer flat against the roof
- The roof is drooping
- There is visible damage
- Granules or “grit” are washing off the roof
The best answer to this question is to have an expert from McCann's give you an honest, free assessment.
How often should Oklahoma roofs be replaced?
There are many variables that determine this. Your roof’s longevity varies depending on the material it’s made from, how well the roof is insulated, the ventilation system and outdoor weather conditions. According to U.S. News and World Report, the typical lifespan for asphalt shingles is about 20 years, but Oklahoma weather conditions shorten the average roof’s lifespan.
How much does a roof replacement cost?
A roof replacement in Oklahoma is among the more costly home improvement projects. This cost includes materials, labor, disposal and job site extras. The size of the job, any underlying damage, and your location will also impact the price you pay for a roof replacement. Check out our costs page to learn more.
Will insurance pay for my roof replacement?
A typical homeowners’ insurance policy will cover your roof if it’s suddenly damaged, but not if needs to be replaced due to age and normal wear and tear.
Your insurance company may have stipulations when it comes to paying for a roof replacement. For example, some policies won’t cover repairs that are deemed purely cosmetic, and insurers may refuse to replace your roof if it wasn’t maintained properly.
It’s a good idea to get your roof regularly inspected by a professional to document its condition. McCann’s is happy to help with this process.
Should I replace my roof before I sell my home?
An old and damaged roof could make it harder to sell your home for a good price, but replacing your roof is expensive. While you may not always recoup the investment you made on a new roof, it can make it much easier to get a good deal for your house. Consider your home’s current value, its value with a new roof, market conditions and current costs for roof replacements in your area. A local real estate agent can give you more advice about repairs you should make before listing your home.
What type of roofing do I need?
Asphalt shingles are the most common type of roofing material. They’re generally the most affordable option, easiest to install and last about 20 to 25 years. At McCann's, we believe that due to Oklahoma’s climate and weather, asphalt shingles are nearly always the most economical and wise choice. More expensive options like metal, slate and shake exist, but they’re also more expensive to replace after Oklahoma’s notorious hail and windstorms.
How long does it take to re-roof a house?
Re-roofing your home is a big project. A moderately-sized residential roofing job usually takes the better part of a day or two. It may take longer for larger homes, and weather conditions also play into the timeframe.
